Air Purifiers HOME PAGE >Air Purifier Ionizer

Air Purifier Ionizer

It is quite normal for a person to think that being indoors keeps a person healthy as the air and environment indoors is less polluted than outside air. However in reality, it is indoor air that is ten times more polluted than the air found outside. This is the reason many people turn to air purifiers to purify indoor air. These air purifiers carry particulates in the air that aggravate allergies, asthma, viruses and bacteria out of the air. There are different types of air purifiers, of which one of them is the ionizer.

The ionizer is very effective in removing particulates from the air, without having the need of filters being replaced or cleaned. These air purifiers produce a stream of negatively charged ions that uplift the atmosphere scientifically. In fact, with the ionizer working indoors, you get to breathe air that is similar to the air found outdoors. The ionizer produces a stream of negative ions which merge with the particles found in the air.

This makes the particle gain weight and thus falls to the ground where you just have to vacuum clean the room. However as all the particles fall to the ground because of the weight, your constant movement around the room may stir the dust? This in turn creates pollution in the room. This is why it is necessary to vacuum the room frequently if you use an ionizer as your air purifier. This is the only way you can make this method work effectively for you.

Moreover if the ionizer is placed too close to a wall, there is a possibility of all the particulates sticking to the wall. This in turn causes a ‘black-wall effect’ that does not, and is not ready to wash off. So if you intend to use an ionizer for purifying of air, it is better to use an ionizer with a low level of ozone. This is because this ozone will react with the ionized particle and change it back into oxygen. It is not advisable, or recommended to use high levels of ozone in a living environment. It is permitted to have an ozone level of 0.04ppm or less if you intend to sanitize the air and surface of the environment. Another disadvantage of ionizers is that they can purify only one room; the room where it is placed.

When choosing the right ionizer for your home, it is important that you find out the area the purifier can clean effectively. Usually, an ionizer may effectively purifier 500 sq. ft.area. If you have a larger room, you may have to consider having multiple ionizers installed in the room. Find out if the ionizer has replaceable parts, plates or filters and its rates. It is always better to choose an ionizer that is not noisy and is more like a breeze. However, avoid ionizers that emit too strong an ozone smell.

Check on the length of the warranty of the ionizer and if repairs are done easily and quickly. It is always better to choose an ionizer that has studies that states its effectiveness, and offers free trials.
