Heather Dean Locklear was born September 25, 1961, in Los Angeles, California. The youngest of 4 sisters, Heather is the daughter of Bill, the Dean of the School of Engineering at UCLU (Heather's former school), and Diane, an administrative assistant at Disney.

The blue-eyed blonde originally attended UCLA as a psychology major, when a casting director caught eye of the all-American beauty and encouraged her to take a commercial acting class. By the end of her freshman year, she began to do guest TV spots, and decided to pursue acting full-time.

Actress Heather Locklear had the distinction of co-starring simultaneously in two weekly series within a year of her 1981 TV debut. Locklear played Steven Carrington's long-suffering wife Sammy Jo on Dynasty, then went down the block to essay the role of ever-imperiled lady cop Stacy Sheridan on T.J. Hooker. Since that time, Locklear has made several efforts to establish herself as a comedienne, ranging from a forgettable sitcom to her wiselipped heroine in Return of the Swamp Thing (1991). Far better at inducing feminine envy than laughs, Locklear has most recently been seen as elegant villainess Amanda Woodward, on the Fox Network series Melrose Place, a show she is credited as saving from cancellation with her sexy but catty performance. When not participating in series television, Locklear has functioned as spokesperson for the Health and Tennis Corporation of America. Locklear was for several years married to rock star Tommy Lee; after their breakup she wed yet another rocker, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora. Heather Locklear Files for Divorce

yet another example of how all Hollywood marriages are doomed to fail, Heather Locklear has filed for divorce from her husband of 11 years, Richie Sambora, reports People magazine.

In paperwork filed Thursday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, Locklear requests physical custody of the couple's 8-year-old daughter, Ava Elizabeth, with visitation rights for Sambora. The actress cites "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. According to the divorce petition, the couple signed a prenuptial agreement that determines how their assets will be divided.
Right, "irreconcilable differences"... Which really means she couldn't take be married to a member of Bon Jovi anymore
