About Janet Jackson

Janet is in a league of her own, whether it is for songwriting, singing or dancing. There is a reason why she is idolized by today's young stars like Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera. Janet is a proven artist with an abundance of talent, talent that has also helped her modest film career. Her start in show business began on television, which included gigs on Good Times and a short stint on Fame. That was a prelude to her future success.
Janet Jackson's sexiness has never been questioned, especially not since her image makeover in the mid-'90s. Janet Jackson's Birthday

Janet Damita Jo Jackson was born on May 16, 1966 in Gary, Indiana. She's the youngest of 9 children born to Joe and Katherine Jackson. Growing up in the Jackson family, Janet was aware of the lures of performance early on. Since the Jackson 5 were already stars by the time Janet was a teenager, it may never have occurred to her that it was possible to fail in show business.

Jackson took some time to rethink her musical career and her father hired her a new manager, John McClain, who isolated his young charge to train her as a dancer (and make her lose weight). McClain hooked Jackson up with producers/writers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, whom she'd seen perform as members of the Minneapolis funk outfit the Time. Jackson collaborated with Jam and Lewis on most of the tracks for her next album, Control.

In 1982, Janet released her first self-titled album. Being sixteen at the time, Janet had yet to find a style and a specific audience. She began touring and during her tour, she met two members of the band The Time -- Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis -- two men who ultimately became major figures in her career.

In 1983, Janet landed a role on Fame. During her time on the show, she remained in the protective clutches of her parents who were often on the set.

By 1984, Janet eloped with singer James DeBarge. But the following spring, she moved back into her parents home and had the marriage annulled. Also in 1984, Janet released her second album, Dreamstreet, and although it was a little more personal, it was not well received by fans or critics.

The album that helped Janet shine was 1986's Control. It was her first album with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. This album hit number one, putting six singles on various charts. Janet began expressing herself verbally, musically and rhythmically.

Janet's sex symbol status began to ignite and the singles from the album just kept coming: five of the tracks from the album became top 5 pop hits. Janet spent the following two years supporting the album and remixing the songs into dance versions.

So, I started watching the Billboard Awards, and then I remembered I hate Award Shows. And then I remembered that Heroes was on, so I went and watched that, and had a much better night.

And trust me, even though you might think that Janet Jackson looking like the lady gremlin from Gremlins 2, Gwen Stefani looking like Egon Spengler from the Ghostbusters cartoon, Denise Richards looking like The Bride of Frankenstein, and Courtney Love looking like, well, Courtney Love would make for an entertaining show, you'd be wrong.

It's really amazing what crash dieting, non-stop exercise, and some good old-fashioned Photoshop can do these days. Just a few short months ago (okay, eight or nine months ago), Janet Jackson was really fat. I mean really fat. But now, why, just look at her.

Sure she might look good in these pictures from FHM magazine, topless as she is, but think for a second. Consider how much work must have gone into these photos. From make-up, to lighting, to computer aided retouching.

But with a title saying "I've never worn this little," you'd expect the magazine to make sure she looks good, no matter what the cost. And frankly, I'm glad they did, because who wants to look at an aging pop star who probably has the worst stretch marks in the business? Not I, that's who.

All that being said. Janet Jackson topless on the cover of FHM is still pretty hot.

Janet Jackson: Worst. Breasts. Ever

Okay, so Janet Jackson may have lost a ton of weight recently, which is comendable and all that, (though why she gained it in the first place, I still don't understand) but it looks as though in her haste to show off her newly fit figure, she seems to have forgotten that she has one of the worst boob jobs ever.

As if her Super Bowl incident wasn't bad enough, what with that crazy nipple ring, now she is making small children grown men everywhere cry at the sight of that hideous cleavage.

Janet Jackson: Fat No More

Janet Jackson keeps getting skinnier. I guess if your record label threatens not to release your album until you lose weight, you're probably gonna go out and lose some weight. Still makes you wonder why she ballooned up in the first place.
