About
Toni Braxton |
|
Toni Braxton was one of the most
popular and commercially successful female RB singers of the '90s, thanks to
her ability to straddle seemingly opposite worlds. Braxton was soulful
enough for RB audiences, but smooth enough for adult contemporary;
sophisticated enough for adults, but sultry enough for younger listeners;
strong enough in the face of heartbreak to appeal to women, but ravishing
enough to nab the fellas. Wielding such broad appeal, Braxton managed to
score not one, but two albums that sold over eight million copies;
naturally, they were accompanied by a long string of hit singles on the pop
and RB charts, one of which -- "Un-break My Heart" -- ranks among the
longest-running number one pop hits of the rock era.
Toni Braxton is one of the sexiest singers to come along in quite some time.
Her revealing dresses and soft voice have won over many fans, mostly men,
who appreciate brains and beauty.
"I'm not a diva. I'm a tadpole trying to be a frog." -Toni Braxton

Her
debut album, the self-entitled Toni Braxton, was released in 1993, and
spawned the hits "Another Sad Love Song", "You Mean The World To Me" and
"Breathe Again". Her critically acclaimed album and Aretha Franklin/Whitney
Houston style garnered her the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 1993. Her
follow-up album, the 1996 Secrets, equally did not disappoint. The singles
"You're Makin' Me High" and "Un-Break My Heart" were huge hits, especially
the latter which can probably be considered Toni's biggest international
single. Toni also contributed to another soundtrack, the female bonding film
Waiting to Exhale.
After having won the 1997 Billboard Award for Female R&B Artist of the Year,
Toni's stroke of success crashed when she filed for bankruptcy in 1998,
after litigation with her record company. This did not stop Toni, who got
back into the record studio to develop her third album, The Heat, released
in April 2000. Although The Heat has not had the same fiery success as her
previous albums, her first single, "He Wasn't Man Enough" has been on the
Top Ten charts for months, and has become a staple on R&B, Pop and Adult
Contemporary radio stations.
The artist known as "The First Lady of LaFace" has triumphed over hardship
to become a modern R&B, soul diva.

| Toni Braxton Nipple Slip and Ass Slip at
the World Cup |
|
|
When you've
got the attention of four out of five people in the world, you can put
on a show that's pretty boring, and most people will still be
entertained. It happens at the Olympics every four years, and it
happened this year at the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany opening ceremonies
too. The star attraction at this year's ceremonies was Toni Braxton and
Il Divo performing the World Cup theme song "The Time of Our Lives."
But it seems like Toni wanted to give the crowd a little something
extra, and she did just that. So what was that "little extra" in her
performance? How about showing her ass to everyone in the world. With a
gust of wind, Toni Braxton's dress was above her waist, leaving her in
her panties. But as if that wasn't enough, at the rehearsals, Toni was
also wearing a dress slit up to her crotch, and not only that, she poped
out of the top of her dress too. Yes, on top of everything, a Toni
Braxton nipple slip was included, just fo fun I guess.
I don't know what made Toni Braxton have two "wadrobe malfunctions" in a
row, but she must be on something. It's like she's taking fashion advice
from Janet Jackson, and health advice from Whitney Houston. |
