Indian Women Wear by Religion
India is one of the most religiously diverse
nations in the world, with one of the most deeply religious societies
and cultures. Religion plays a central and definitive role in the life
of the country and most of its people. People from many religions use
dress as a sign of their faith. Sometimes a special type of dress is
required by religion, while other times it is a matter of custom.
Religious clothing might be considered a special case of occupational
clothing. Sometimes it is worn only during the performance of religious
ceremonies. However, it may also be worn everyday as a marker for
special religious status.
Though, religion in Indian can be divided into
various groups, let us divide Indian women wear by religion in four main
